Colt Starts and On-Site Training
We offer colt-starting here on-site in Waimauku, Auckland, with a strong focus on building trust and confidence from the ground up. Our training is tailored to the individual needs of each horse to give them a successful start to their education.
We also do on-site training for horses that are already started and need additional training or want to further their education. We prioritise exposing young horses to real-life situations; our goal is always to help our horses become well-rounded and safe.
Price:
$620 per week (incl. GST)
*This includes standard hard feed and boarding.
Hay/additional feed or supplements - Cost TBD or bring your own.

Horsemanship Clinic
Our Horsemanship clinic focuses on building a strong foundation of trust starting with groundwork then working through to ridden exercises. There is a variety of interactive demonstrations and hands-on exercises/games to prepare horse and rider for practical application.
We strive to deepen your knowledge and understanding of horse behaviour and mindset. This clinic is designed to extend your boundaries, develop, read and adapt to certain situations while refining your horsemanship through timing and feel.
This clinic also provides an opportunity for you and your horse to learn alongside other horses.

2-day clinic: $330 + GST
1-day clinic: $250 + GST

- We only sell clinics in full - we cannot offer 1-day passes to 2-day clinics because of the group work component.

Level 2 Clinic: This is more advanced than the original Horsemanship clinic and is typically only available to those who have previously completed the TMH Horsemanship clinic. Get in touch for special considerations.
Greenhorse Clinic
The Greenhorse clinic is designed for horses that have not been started under saddle or are reasonably new to training.
This clinic is divided into one-on-one sessions where each participant gets two sessions in the round pen with Tyson. This structure caters to the attention span of young/green horses while also providing the opportunity to learn through observing other's sessions. Observation is a valuable way to learn about different situations that could also apply to you.
We focus on building confidence, introducing key groundwork skills, and preparing young or unhandled horses for the next stage of their education. We aim to provide a supportive learning environment for you and your horse.

Groundwork Clinic
Our Groundwork clinic is focused on the basic horsemanship principles suitable for any discipline. We emphasise establishing leadership through clear communication while focusing on timing and feel. Groundwork is a vital part of every horses education. This clinic stresses the importance of correct groundwork and how it can affect our ridden relationship with our horse.
During the clinic everyone receives one-on-one time with Tyson to work on any individual needs or issues they might have.
